When my husband and I first moved to Nashville over 15 years ago (gasp!), we always had trouble finding a good brunch spot, particularly when friends and family came into town – and especially on Sunday mornings. But fast forward 15 years and amazing brunch spots are EVERYWHERE in Music City – any day of the week. Saturdays and Sundays are prime for indulging in that luxurious, lazy in-between meal. Of course, adding kids to the mix only increases our desire to find family-friendly brunch spots that cater to both kids AND the adults. Well, we’ve found 5 favorite Nashville brunch spots that we love to visit with kids, out-of-town guests or just the two of us, if we can sneak away.
The Old School
I’ve written before about this magical place about ten minutes from downtown Nashville. The Old School has outside dining (perfect for kids to run around), a large dining room and their brunch is AMAZING – lots of kid-friendly options and mimosas and Bloody Mary’s for mom & dad. You can even attend Shenanigoats yoga in their gorgeous barn on Sundays before enjoying brunch! The farm is fun to explore with kids too. I think the bread basket (which changes weekly) tied with the cinnamon roll (as big as their head) for my kids favorite brunch item.
Fido
Aptly named because it was a former pet shop (dogs are only allowed outside), Fido Cafe is a staple in the heart of Nashville. My girls love the pancakes, the coffee drinks are amazing and they are Nashville’s largest buyer of local ingredients. Also, I recently learned that they have an adults only Butter Beer (with Schnapps and espresso)! Sounds like a perfect brunch treat for me.
The Loveless Cafe
The Loveless Cafe is an iconic Nashville spot, famous for their made-from-scratch biscuits and jam, the restaurant has been open since 1951. They are open 7 days a week and serve breakfast – including those heavenly biscuits – all day. If you have to wait for a seat, there are shops to peruse all around – perfect for buying some jam to bring home! And the Mason Jar Mary is southern brunch charm at its best.
Biscuit Love
Biscuit Love began as an airstream food truck named Lilly but now you can find their restaurants in 3 Middle Tennessee locations. The “Bonuts” are a family favorite to share and the kids menu is plentiful…as is the adult brunch drink menu! There is almost always a line, but it is pretty quick and well worth the wait.
Another Broken Egg Cafe
Another Broken Egg Cafe popped up down the street from us (at 4111 Charlotte) and their family-friendly menu is egg-cellent, ha. The kids menu includes chicken tenders, pancakes with fruit, waffles … and eggs, of course. They’ll even offer special kids’ meals that come with milk or juice and yogurt. The menu is full of fresh options for breakfast or brunch and they offer several gluten free options as well. Plus, the strawberry St. Germaine and the Bloody Mary take care of the grown-up brunch too.
