We keep Mother’s Day pretty low-key around here, but my hubby and girls always get me something thoughtful to celebrate. A homemade card, some picked flowers (often weeds) and breakfast in bed does the trick – but I’ve been introduced to some amazing makers and brands that create some of the loveliest Mother’s Day gifts (or anytime gifts) for the travel-loving mom that might just be the perfect little something for you to gift your mom…or send this post to your partner or kids for a hint!
Plus, these gifts won’t break the bank if you’re saving up for your next big adventure – although I did include one really special splurge!
(Some of these links contain affiliates or referrals which do not affect your purchase in any way…but ALL of them are products I love and support & several are from makers I adore too.)
1. PhiloSophies Going Places T-Shirt $27.00
Joanna at PhiloSophies creates custom illustrations and also features products around her character, Sophie, who “experiences life as one big adventure.” She creates stationery, cards, tee-shirts and so much more. I adore the simplicity of this “Going Places” shirt, but she’s also got travel journals, luggage tags and tons of custom options — a custom family portrait, perhaps? — any mom would swoon over!
2. The Wander Club Engraved Token & Keychain or Necklace $3.50 – $25.00
I’m so excited to share The Wander Club which makes engraved (and customizable) tokens for every country, US state, or province. Simply purchase a token from wherever you (or your mom) have wandered through and add it to your Wanderchain or necklace. And my favorite part, for every token purchased, The Wander Club will donate a meal to a child in need with the help of their non-profit partner, Rice Bowls. What a beautiful way to document travels while also supporting a global mission!
3. Wanderlust Passport: A Travel Journal $24.00
Angie at Bobo Design Studio creates the perfect travel journal, the Wanderlust Passport. This passport gives you the creative freedom to work in a treasured book where you can document destinations, drawings, pictures, and inspiration before, during and after your travels. The journal includes a few prompts (but not too many) and stickers to help record your travels in a fun and beautiful way. It’s great for kids too.
4. Yeouth Cosmetics Retinal 2.5% Serum $19.95
I’ve been using Yeouth skincare products since the start of the year and I love how my skin has brightened. Their products are made in the USA and are paraben, sulfate, phthalates, fragrance, GMO & triclosan free. They are perfect for travel since most of the products are 3oz. or less — but I’m still using my original products for over 3 months as a little goes a long way. My favorite product is their Retinal but they have an entire line of skincare products that work together.
5. The Traveler’s Essential Oil Bracelet $39.00
This year The Family Backpack teamed up with Birdstail Designs to create The Traveler’s Essential Oil Bracelet. The bracelet is made of Moonstone which is known as the traveler’s stone and is said to guide travelers by the light of the moon. The stone possesses uplifting energy of hope and has been worn by travelers as a talisman of protection and guidance. This bracelet allows you to enjoy the moonstone properties while also using essential oils to relax during your travels. I simply add one or two drops of certified therapeutic grade essential oil to the black lava beads (lavender is my go-to) and enjoy the diffusing and aromatherapy benefits for up to three days to stay calm, relaxed and protected while exploring around the world — or around your town — with your kids.
Monica Mahony Caftan Dress $350.00
Monica Mahony’s Caftans and dresses are a dream. The Esmeralda Caftan is a classic dress that is super comfy and works for any age or body type — and comes in several patterns and colors. The caftans have a retro 70s vibe, are travel friendly and wrinkle free – plus, you can wear it frontwards and backwards. I also adore the Laura Dress for all occassions – dressed up or down, as a coverup or to a formal event. These dresses and caftans are so versatile and would be a fun splurge that will be a timeless piece.
